Our Vision

Who We Are

Shawnee Nazarene Academy (SNA) was birthed in the heart of several educators who feel led to start a school ministry at Shawnee Church of the Nazarene. With our modern-day culture being ever-changing and many school environments being sometimes pulled in many directions by political forces, SNA takes all of the best practices from the fields of education, child psychology, health, and fitness to give students the best possible learning opportunity. We believe in partnering with families and providing lots of physical movement, hands-on activities, leadership training, and discipling in an intimate setting where everyone is known and valued. SNA developed a Coat of Arms representing the pillars of this school - Family, Fitness, Education, and Leadership - with Christ at the center of every day. These four pillars will be the guiding principles by which we operate every day.

Doing Some Math

The education of our Christian young people is of paramount importance. At SNA, we prayerfully enter into the building every day aware of our responsibility to shape the next generation of Christian leaders who will impact the world for Christ. Mathematically, Christian education makes sense. If you take a child who attends a public school from Kindergarten through twelfth grade, they typically attend church 1-2 hours per week. At two hours a week for 52 weeks over a 13 year span, the child theoretically receives 1,352 hours of discipleship outside of the home. If you take that same child and place them in a school that is intentionally integrating a Biblical worldview in all they do, the numbers are greatly impacting. Kindergarten through twelfth grade, with a 7 hour school day - 36 weeks a year - for 13 years, a child in this environment receives 16,380 hours of discipleship outside of the home.
